A wolf will never be a pet

A wolf will never be a pet Image

I need to leave time for my good thoughts to grow.

I am sick of people telling me that I need to love myself first, I know, it can be hard.

I am letting go of the illusion that things could have been any different.

I am going to stop distancing myself from my favourite songs because of this. It hurt because it mattered.

I am learning that I will never be good in everyone’s story. I am so angry. But I am learning to walk forward in a straight line.

I am a brutally soft woman. It is not taboo to be too soft, too assertive, too much. I am telling myself this as many times as I need to hear it and I am slowly coming out at the other end. I am going to speak my mind even as my voice shakes.

I am mine before I am anyone else’s. I am leaving the past right where it belongs, identifying what is essential, and disregarding the rest.
