Waiting

I’ve been reflecting

on how much time I have spent waiting for life to happen to me.

Waiting for that text, that invite, that dating app notification.

Wasting all that time while life was waiting for me to grab it.

I don’t need anyone’s validation but my own.

I wish my younger self realised that.

But I’m glad I realise it now, and I won’t spend time waiting anymore.
