There’s an Old Man Playing Minecraft in the Library

There’s an old man playing Minecraft in the library

On a laptop probably half his age –

Considering technology ages faster than flesh,

The laptop is ancient. 

There’s an old woman playing solitaire in the library.

She’s celebrating her wins quite loudly

But no one seems to mind

It would be cruel to tell an old woman to be quiet. 

I’m attempting to be productive in the library

But really I am watching the old man

Build a castle out of wood and cobblestone bricks, 

Pretending I live there.
